Charlotte Church has shared a rare snap of her nursing her daughter on Instagram after she confirmed the birth of her third child in February.

The Welsh singer songwriter, 34, shared a candid snap of her breastfeeding while out and about which she captioned: "Breastfeeding my little beauty 'publicbreastfeeding" to help break the stigma around new mums feeding their child in public.

Fans of the new mum, who joined the social media platform only a few months ago, have praised her for her post which has helped other mums to breastfeed their children in public without fear of judgement from passers-by.

One user wrote: “High five Charlotte! I did the same, well tried to with my daughter … she is 12 now.

“Even then just a mere 12 years ago was such an outrage over us mummies wanting, needing to be able to breastfeed with our baby being able to see our faces and the contentment of us both.

“I don’t know you (love your beautiful voice though) but I’m proud of you for putting this beautiful image out there!”

Charlotte, who is yet to reveal the name of her bundle of joy, is already mum to daughter Ruby, 12, and Dexter 11, who she shares with her ex-fiancé Gavin Henson.

The opera singer turned pop singer, who shares her third child with her husband Jonathan Powell, spoke out about the stigma surrounding public breastfeeding when she nursed her first two children back in 2008.

Speaking to Growing Your Baby, she said: “Experts say that young mothers are less likely to breastfeed due to a lack of understanding combined with social pressure from people who themselves may never have breastfed.

“Feeding Ruby myself has been such a positive experience and I would definitely recommend to other mums that they try it.

“I don’t know why so few young mums choose to breastfeed but I think there are a lot of myths out there.

“It’s important they hear from real mums like me and have all the information they need to make their minds up.”

This comes after Charlotte appeared on the hit ITV daytime show This Morning to discuss her successes with homeschooling during the global pandemic.

Speaking with TV host Holly Willoughby, Charlotte said: “I’ve been homeschooling my own children now for a few years now."

The Cardiff-born singer told how she home schools her two children with the help of her partner Johnathan and said she loved reading and singing with them.

She also has the support of an external teacher who also aids the children’s learning which she revealed in a podcast with comedian Robin Ince for his online programme Book Shambles.

She added: “There’s a lady called Leanne who helps us, and my partner Johnny, and we’ve got a teacher, an actual teacher, called Dawn.

“We wanted to try and get some other kids involved, some of the other home schoolers, just to take some of the pressure off the parents a little bit and try to make it more social and a little bit more of a community thing.”

Charlotte was also taught by a tutor as a child during her time as a child star touring the country, and missed out on taking her science GCSEs.
