Coleen and Wayne Rooney treat four sons to meal at Salt Bae’s expensive restaurant

Coleen and Wayne Rooney are among the latest celebrity guests to have dinner at Salt Bae's expensive restaurant.

The couple and their four sons visited the new upmarket London steakhouse of Turkish chef Nusret Gökçe aka 'Salt Bae' – where one steak can cost hundreds of pounds.

Chef Nusret posted two photos of the Rooney family to his Instagram, calling them a "great family".

The first shows Wayne and Colleen with their four sons – Kai, 11, Klay, eight, Kit, five, and Cass, three – standing in front of a picture of Salt Bae and his iconic salt sprinkle. The second shows Wayne, who recently celebrated his 36th birthday, with Nusret, who captioned the image "my brother".

The family travelled to London from the family home in Cheshire to sample Nusr-et's pricey menu, which includes a £630 steak and a £100 burger. Even the drinks are expensive with a coke coming in at £9.

The new restaurant has been raising eyebrows since its opening last month, with one receipt from the restaurant making its way onto Twitter.

The receipt showed the eye-watering prices of the up-market restaurant where – alongside its famous £630 steak – diners can order a the ‘Nusret salad’ for £23, burrata cheese for £25 or an Asado (barbecued Argentinian meat) for two for £120.

The Rooneys aren't the first celebs to visit the restaurant, with Gemma Collins and Kate and Rio Ferdinand recently seen dining in the expensive eatery.

After Gemma Collins' date night meal with boyfriend Rami Hawash, the star explained on her podcast: "I have to give the ambience of the restaurant, the experience, a 10 out of 10.

“The bill was another situation, I was in utter shock. But you have to weigh these things up, the press reported that my steak cost £700, if only they knew.

“I wish it cost £700. It actually cost £1,450.”

Salt Bae went viral for his famous salt sprinkling move, which sees him flick his wrist at an angle to season his dishes.

The chef’s newest restaurant in London follows previous restaurant openings in New York, Dubai and Istanbul, where he's also hosted celebs such as Leonardo DiCaprio, David Beckham and Naomi Campbell.
