Dan Walker gave a glimpse of his family after his wife Sarah Walker and the couple’s three children, Susanna, Jessica and Joe made a rare appearance behind the scenes on Strictly Come Dancing. The presenter has always kept his family life private since being a regular on BBC Breakfast from 2016.

Dan, 44, who made it to the quarter-finals on Strictly, held an Instagram Q&A in view of his 265,000 followers.

The BBC host answered a series of questions from fans who quizzed the broadcaster.

The news anchor reacted after a fan asked about his other half and why we rarely see his wife posted online.

The person in question asked: “Why don’t you post any photos with your wife?”

Dan revealed that his partner prefers to not be on his social media accounts.

He replied: “Good question… because she doesn’t want to be on social media. Simple as that. She’s much wiser than me.”

The broadcaster has been married to his childhood sweetheart for 20 years.

The pair met in 1999 at the University of Sheffield when Dan was studying for a Master’s Degree in broadcast journalism.

Dan and Sarah went on to date for two years before being wed in 2001.

His other half made a rare appearance on one Strictly live show where Dan dedicated his Viennese waltz performance to her and their children.

Addressing his routine, the broadcaster said at the time: “I’m just going to gush over her for a moment. Because she’s one of those people, the more you know her the more you love her.

“And I’ve known her and loved her for over half my life.”

Dan added: “There she is, she’s absolutely amazing, she’s such a special person and I love her to bits. I hope she enjoyed that because we really loved it.”

Meanwhile, the presenter also reacted to a question about his exit from Football Focus.

It comes after the BBC host was replaced by Alex Scott on the sporting show.

A fan asked: “Are you missing Football Focus?”

The news anchor revealed that he does miss his colleagues on the sports show.

He replied: “I miss the people who work on it. They were all amazing.”

Dan stepped down from his presenting role on Football Focus after 12 years.

BBC Breakfast airs daily on BBC One at 6am.
