Monty Don has seen fans complimenting his dog Ned following the recent death of his companion.
Last month, the BBC Gardeners’ World star announced that his Golden Retriever, Nell, had been diagnosed with cancer and had died.
Taking to Instagram at the time, Monty revealed that the deceased pooch had been buried in one of his jackets and that her end was “peaceful and dignified” and thus “ended obvious suffering”.
Yesterday the 68-year-old posted a sweet video of his remaining Golden Retriever, Ned, to his Instagram feed.
In the footage, the dog could be seen racing back to his owner through a flooded field whilst holding a ball between his teeth.

In the caption of the quick clip – which the presenter shared with his 1.2million followers – he wrote: “Flooded fields = fantastic fun!”
Fans have since flocked to the post, many of whom have wished the canine well following the death of his sister.
One Instagram user wrote: “I hope he’s not missing Nellie too much.”
A second agreed and said: “I hope he’s missing & thinking of Nellie at the same time. Plus Nellie would’ve love being in the flooded field with Ned.”(sic)
Elsewhere, more viewers expressed their support and were glad that his pet seemed to be in high spirits.
One said: “And he found his call! Gorgeous boy.”
“Every golden’s dream,” replied a second.
A third commented: “He will sleep well after that.”

Another viewer remarked that Ned looked like he was “a happy boy” in the clip.
The new video comes just days after the BBC star was inundated with support after revealing his Longmeadow garden had been flooded by contaminated water.
On Saturday, he took to X (formerly Twitter) and shared a clip of water streaming through one of his fields.
To explain the footage, he wrote: “Run-off from fields going into flooded river taking with it nitrates. Repeated a thousand times every wet day, killing our waterways.”
In response to the devastating clip, one user said: “The rain has been relentless. Plus there shouldn’t have been any left from the crop last year as farmers and agronomists put in only what is needed.”
Another said: “Seems wrong adding a ‘like’ to (sic) your post Mr. D, but it is very definitely an issue that has been unaddressed by many for far too long.”
Monty’s dogs Ned and Nell, as well as Nigel, who died three years ago, all appeared alongside their owner on Gardeners’ World.
Reflecting on his recently deceased dog, the star said: “She used to have a particular bark when she was excited about getting food.
“We used to call her ‘woo woo’, and she had a sort of particular ‘woo woo’ bark and those little things.”
