Inside Love Island winner Amber Gill’s relationship history

07/05/2022

Amber Gill has stated that she 'couldn't be with a man again' and declared that 'switching teams was the best decision I've ever made in my life'.

The 24 year old took to Twitter to respond to the current Love Island drama with the boys 'cracking on' in Casa Amor behind the partners' backs and made the statements.

Amber took home the Love Island 2019 crown with beau Greg O’Shea, 27, but after leaving the villa her and Greg went their separate ways after just five weeks, making them the fastest winning couple to break up.

The reality star, who worked as a beauty therapist before entering the villa, spoke out about her trust issues during her time in the villa, but who did Amber date before Love Island?

Amber was pictured with Geordie Shore star Kyle Christie in a sweet Insta snap back in 2014, which he captioned “the young Mrs Christie.”

Whilst a caption like this would be enough to spark rumours, Kyle was actually dating co-star Holly Hagan at the time, and Amber was reportedly dating his cousin.

Following this, we know Amber was in a relationship as she told Cosmopolitan in a Q&A that she was recruited for Love Island in 2018 but turned it down due to having a boyfriend.

Amber told Cosmo: “I didn’t actually apply to go on Love Island, I was asked via Instagram. I was actually asked the year before, but I had a boyfriend… but let’s not talk about him. I thought, ‘Why the hell not? Let’s try it.’ and I won.”

Aside from this, many rumours have been circulated over Amber’s dating history, notably that she has some famous exes…

In her pre-villa interview, the 24-year-old listed Adam Collard among her pals and this prompted fans to speculate that they may have previously dated.

In the Love Island villa alone, Amber was involved with two men.

Michael Griffiths and Amber Gill took a liking to each other early on in the villa, but thing’s went awry when Michael brutally dumped her and began cracking on with Joanna right in front of her.

Amber then moved onto Irish heartthrob and rugby player Greg, with the pair quickly falling for each other.

The couple made things official and things were looking up until Greg dumped the Newcastle lass savagely over text luckily for Amber after they’d split the £50,000 prize money.

The rumour mill was turning at record speeds too once Amber and Greg broke up and Ovie Soko ended his relationship with India Reynolds.

After becoming close pals on the show, Love Island fans were convinced that Amber and Ovie should couple up, but rumours were squashed by Amber.

The Geordie beautician admitted to receiving floods of messages from fans eager to see the coupling between the pair, but Amber told OK!: “It is a weird thing for me because he’s like my brother.

“I would prefer to have him as a friend. We have never really thought of each other like that – it's a bit strange that everybody comments on it all the time.”

Following her dramatic Love Island stint, the star told OK! in 2019 that she wasn't ready to date again so soon after the show, saying: “I dealt with two boys over the summer, I don’t need to deal with any more right now."

“That’s enough to last me for the year. I am definitely off men for the minute. I’m happy by myself – definitely. I’m not looking for anything. I don’t have the time any more to date to be honest. I’m happy where I am," she added.

In 2021, she started dating Rory Colhoun after relocating to Dubai but the pair's romance eventually ended after she found out about his criminal record.

Amber and Rory, 30, were rumoured to have rekindled their romance back in January, with the pair being spotted enjoying dinner in Dubai, according to The Mirror.
