Sky News presenter Jacquie Beltrao, 55, has announced that she is currently in hospital in a candid Twitter post. It comes after the mum-of-three recently revealed that she had suffered “a bad week” after being given devastating news about her breast cancer diagnosis.

In a tweet last month, the star admitted to feeling down after sharing the news that scans had revealed her cancer has spread to her bones.

Jacquie has since shared that she is back in hospital to undergo treatment to have a port removed.

In view of her 82,000 Twitter followers, the Sky News host explained that she hoped it would be a brief visit.

Jacquie wrote: “In hospital (hopefully briefly) having my port temporarily removed. I’ve had no food since breakfast – all I can think about is sandwiches Sandwich Anyone having anything nice for tea? Just watched @RafaelNadal beat @denis_shapo bet they’re off to have pasta – god I’m hungry…”.

Fans flocked to comment on the post, as many people offered their well-wishes to the broadcaster.

One wrote: “Hope you’re home very soon.”

Another commented: “Jacqui darling you are so strong, you will get through this.”

“Thoughts are with you Jacquie – you’re an inspiration. Hope you feel better real soon,” a third added.

A fourth remarked: “Just keep fighting Jacquie. So many people want to see you back on their TVs for a long time yet. Get home, get fed.”

Earlier this month, she admitted that going to work helped to cheer her up as she stunned in a pair of skinny black trousers and a black and white polka dot shirt.

Taking to social media, she wrote: “I’m crushed and sad – no question but work has cheered me up a bit this morning.”

She went on to tag her colleagues Stephen Dixon, Nazaneen Ghaffar and Gillian Joseph, before revealing that the latter hasn’t seen Line of Duty.

“@skygillian says she’s never watched LineOfDuty #jesusmaryandjosephandtheweedonkey how is that even possible?” Jacquie asked.

It comes after the TV anchor recently shared some upsetting news in a heartbreaking video.

Jacquie explained that her cancer has “flared up” again, explaining the disease has “got in my bones”.

Explaining the situation, she said in her video: “So here’s the thing I’ve got my scans back and they’re absolutely rubbish.

“All of the cancer that was being a bit more quiet has flared up raring to go for a picnic in a few places. So now I’ve got it in my bones where I didn’t have it before.

“That smart drug I was on was not so smart for me. It’s really scary. It’s awful actually.”

She continued: “I’m going onto a new clever drug – well hopefully it’s clever – next week.

“I’m going to have to dig into that bag of gears and keep going forward and believing that there is something out there for me.”

Jacquie concluded: “While I’ve still got options I’ve got to remain optimistic and just get on with and keep going in a forward direction.”
