Interscope founder Jimmy Iovine could have been an early investor in Facebook — had he not blown it with Mark Zuckerberg in a disastrous 2007 meeting.

In the new book, “A-List Angels,” Zack O’Malley Greenburg writes, “Jimmy is 45 minutes late to this meeting. And he says, ‘Oh, I’m sorry I’m late. Our jet got in … and then we swung by Apple to see Steve.’ Like, my big buddy, Steve [Jobs], and not realizing that Zuck was very quickly going to be a bigger deal [than Iovine].”

Iovine said, “I can’t use Facebook. People are going to be messaging me left and right, and I’m going to be overwhelmed.” Zuck knew in five minutes the meeting would amount to nothing and ended it early.

Don’t feel bad for Iovine, who then teamed with Dr. Dre to form Beats, sold to Apple in 2013 for $3.2 billion.
