Strictly Come Dancing stars Joe Sugg and Dianne Buswell have taken to Instagram and Twitter to share some bad news with fans. The couple, who met when they were partnered together on the ballroom dancing show back in 2018, have made the difficult decision to cancel The Joe and Dianne Show, for the “health and wellbeing” of guests and all those involved in the production.

The social media star and professional dancer were due to begin their tour of the UK in March.

Joe and Dianne both shared a statement announcing the news and spoke of their disappointment.

“So so gutted to have to share this news with you all… but unfortunately the Joe & Dianne show has been cancelled,” Joe’s post read, in view of his 5.4 million followers.

“It must be done to keep everyone involved safe which is our top priority. #joeanddianneshow,” the 29-year-old added.

The statement read: “We are sad to announce that in light of the current situation with the coronavirus pandemic, we are no longer in a position to take The Joe and Dianne Show on the road in March and April.

“We are deeply disappointed not to be able to bring the show to life in front of audiences around the UK, but the health and wellbeing of our fans and everyone involved in the production must come first.

“Your point of purchase is responsible for processing your refund.

“Please bear with them as this is a challenging time and everything is taking a little longer than normal.

“We look forward to going on tour in better times but in the meantime take care of yourselves. Joe and Dianne x.”

Over on her account, the Strictly star said the couple had been working hard and were so excited to bring the show to life.

“This is not something we wanted to be telling you all,” the disappointed star began.

“We have both worked so hard to create this wonderful show and were extremely excited to perform for you all But unfortunately due to the current circumstances health and safety of you all comes first. Lots of love from joe and Dianne x.”

Many took to the comments section to share their thoughts and sympathy with the couple, including Dianne’s BBC co-stars.

“So sorry Dianne! Know how hard you’ve worked and what a great show it is! Lots of love,” wrote Amy Dowden.

“Sorry Di,” added Oti Mabuse.

On Joe’s post, Stacey Dooley, Karen Hauer and Graziano Di Prima also shared their love and support.

Lots of fans also left comments on the post.

“Such awful news but the health and safety of everyone is more important,” wrote one fan.

“Heartbroken but it’s what is safe and we understand that,” another added.

A third remarked: “So sorry it had to turn out this way. We all know how much work you both have put into this show and I hope you will be able to perform it one day when it is safe.”
