Martin Roberts, 57, recieved rather a sweet question during this week’s Q&A session on Twitter, after a fan of Homes Under The Hammer had an interesting proposal for him. But sadly, due to committments of his own, the presenter had to the turn them down.

During yesterday’s Ask Martin Monday, the BBC star was inundated with questions about properties, with a few lifestyle ones thrown into the mix.

But one fan had a more personal query, wondering whether he would like to attend their friend’s wedding reception.

“Hi Martin,” they penned.

“My friend gets married on 10th July, it’s in Halifax.

“Would be great if you could make it to the night do.”

Martin was very grateful for the offer but admitted he wasn’t able to make it.

“Thanks for the offer, but I’ve already got something else scheduled for that day,” he replied.

“I hope you have a great time though.”

Elsewhere, the 57-year-old revealed some behind-the-scenes information about the property show, explaining how he likes hotels with a little bit of character when it comes to being on the road.

Being a host on the popular BBC show, the presenters and film crews travel up and down the county to find houses with potential for prospective buyers at auction, and sometimes it’s more than just one days work.

With that in mind, a viewer quizzed him about whether he gets to choose the accommodation he stays in.

They asked: “Hi Martin when you travel to places for HUTH do you stay in cheap /expensive hotels or do they let you pick where you stay?”

It wasn’t long before the 57-year-old disclosed his preferences for a couple of nights away.

“We are on a tight budget but I try to get them to pick me places with character,” he explained.

“Even if they’re not luxurious.”
