Strictly Come Dancing 2020 star Oti Mabuse has shared a clip from last night’s show on social media today and addressed an error on her part. The 30-year-old professional dancer, who won last year’s competition with ex-Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher, was caught on camera celebrating, in what she believed was an off-screen moment.

Oti and her partner Bill Bailey, 55, wowed the judges, as well as viewers at home, on Saturday evening with a Doctor Dolittle-inspired Quickstep routine.

The couple scored an impressive 24 points on week two of the 2020 series, and even managed to get an eight from notoriously critical judge Craig Revel Horwood.

After learning their score, Oti and Bill waved their arms in the air in celebration, not realising that they were still on camera.

Sharing the footage on the picture-sharing site this morning, the dancer admitted: “We thought the camera was on Claudia [Winkleman]”.

As no one was eliminated from the show last week, the scores from week one and two have been combined.

This gives Oti and Bill a grand total of 39 points, putting them in sixth place on the leaderboard.

Singer HRVY and his partner Janette Manrara are currently in the top spot, while politician Jacqui Smith and Anton Du Beke find themselves at the bottom of the table.

Tonight’s results show will see the first contestant eliminated from the programme.

Proud to see Bill’s hard work in the training room pay off, Oti took to Instagram to congratulate her partner on his second live performance.

“Didn’t he do well @the_bill_bailey,” she added in view of her 463,000 followers before adding, “so proud of you #strictlycomedancing.”

“You guys were utterly brilliant. Can’t wait for next week now,” wrote 2016 Strictly star Greg Rutherford in the comments section of the post.

“SO SO GOOD,” said last year’s contestant Michelle Visage.

“I think you are going to win!” exclaimed one excited fan.
