Richard Osman, 50, took to Twitter and reacted to England’s celebratory win as they head into the Euro 2020 final. The Pointless presenter shared his fears for Escape to the Chateau in a cheeky post.

The BBC favourite addressed the Channel 4 show following last night’s UEFA championship game.

It comes as England defeated Denmark securing a 2-1 win and the squad will now head to the Euro 2020 final to take on Italy.

Taking to the micro-blogging site, Richard confessed he was fearful for Dick Strawbridge and Angel Adoree’s popular renovation show.

The quizzing host penned: “Am worried about the ratings for Escape To The Chateau on Sunday evening.”

Social media users were quick to respond, as one quipped: “Be thankful it’s not Pointless!”

Another said: “Why? Surely the nation will watch the England game on catch-up?”

“Well, I’d rather watch that than football. Sorry, but it will not be on in my house. I hope they win but I feel no need to watch the game,” a third added.

A fourth offered: “Haven’t seen the ratings but I will continue watching the show. Love them.”

While another added: “I’m worried for the nation’s employers on Monday. If you had any work booked in, forget it.”

Escape to the Chateau has become a firm favourite with viewers in the UK and abroad.

The programme boasts over 2.5 million regular viewers in the UK and is also a hit in the US, where it airs on lifestyle channel TLC.

The family have since returned to Channel 4 with their spin-off series, Escape to the Chateau: Make Do and Mend.

Escape To The Chateau made its debut on Channel 4 back in the summer of 2016 and it has continued to generate a huge fanbase.

The documentary series became so popular, it sparked a whole franchise that has seen Dick and Angel release books, merchandise and other spin-off projects.

Dick and Angel recently addressed the future of the show in a candid interview and admitted there are no plans to sell up.

“We are just doing what we do,” Dick explained to The Telegraph.

“As we keep saying to viewers, anybody can do whatever they set out to do if they just go for it.”

Escape to the Chateau airs Sunday on Channel 4 at 8pm.
