Terrence Clarke has sadly died.

The University of Kentucky basketball player, who was a projected pick for the 2021 NBA Draft, was killed on Thursday (April 22) in a car accident in Los Angeles, police confirmed to TMZ.

According to the report, he was driving a Genesis around 2 p.m. in the San Fernando Valley when the car was hit by another car, sending his vehicle into a pole and slamming into a wall. The young athlete was rushed to the hospital, but the injuries were too severe, and he was pronounced dead shortly upon arrival.

He was reportedly in town with his teammate B.J. Boston, another draft prospect, who was behind the wheel. He is “physically okay,” according to the report.

The accident is now under investigation, according to law enforcement. No official cause of the crash has been determined yet.

He was born in Boston, Mass., and went to high school in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. Terrence was ranked as No. 8 overall high school player in the United States, and experts were projecting he would be a second round pick.
