08/26/2023MILLIONS of people will get to enjoy a day off on bank holidays in August.
Brits will be treated to a day off at the end of the month on August 28, 2023.
When you can head out to do your grocery shopping will depend on the individual opening hours of each supermarket.
Bear in mind though that some of the individual stores may have different opening and closing hours, so do check before heading out.
You can check this on most of the supermarket chains' websites, with the local hours for each store.
Below we outline what each supermarket is doing over each of the bank holidays.

Tesco
Tesco's opening hours will vary from branch to branch so customers should check the supermarket's store locator.
You can find this on its website. You just have to enter your postcode to find your nearest branch.
However, Tesco said the majority of its larger stores will be open from 8am to 6pm on August 28 while some may be open until 8pm.
All Tesco Express stores will be open as normal.

Aldi
Aldi said its stores in England and Wales will be open until 8pm on August 28.
Branches in Scotland will be open as usual, until 10pm.
On Saturday August 26 stores will be open from 8am until 10pm, while on Sunday 27, they'll be open 10am to 4pm.
Click and collect will also be available across 200 stores. You should call your local branch to see if it is running the service.
Sainsbury's
Most of Sainsbury's larger stores will be open between 8am and 8pm over the August bank holiday date.
The smaller branches will be open as normal from 7am to 11pm.
But these aren't guaranteed opening hours and will vary depending on the shop.
You should check out the Sainsbury's store locator on the supermarket's website to find out what your nearest branch's opening hours will be.
You then have to type in your town or postcode and it will draw up your closest store.
Morrisons
On Monday, August 28, Morrisons stores will open at the usual time, but they will close slightly earlier at 8pm.
Asda
Asda's stores will be open as normal on Saturday August 26 and Sunday August 27.
Its supermarket opening times for Monday, August 28 will vary across the country.
Some may open from as early as 6am though others may open a little later.
Shoppers are being advised to use the store locator tool on Asda's website to plan their visit and check opening times.
Iceland
Iceland has almost 1,000 stores nationwide and is one of the most popular supermarkets in the UK.
Most Iceland stores are open from 7am or 8am until 7pm, and in some cities, stores are open until 9pm.
The good news is that Iceland will be open on over the August bank holiday.
There could be a possible exception in shopping centres or smaller stores, so it would be best to check beforehand.
Co op
Co-op has over 4,000 stores nationwide, but exact opening times might still vary across the UK.
All Co-op stores will be open for business across all the bank holidays.
