Ben & Jerry’s fans go wild for the brand’s FIRST ice cream on a stick with the cookie dough Peace Pop set to hit the UK later this month

It’s not exactly the season for ice pops but that hasn’t stopped Ben & Jerry’s fans from going wild over the brands first treat that doesn’t come in a tub. 

The American confectionary giant has sparked a frenzy with the announcement of Peace Pops, its first ice cream on a stick. 

Set to go on sale in Co-op stores across the UK from mid-January, social media users have taken to the brand’s Instagram to gush about their eagerness to try the £2.20 snack and pleading for a vegan option to also be introduced.

Ben& Jerry’s Peace Pops are combination of dairy Fairtrade vanilla ice cream with chocolate chips and a peace sign-shaped, cookie-dough-inspired centre, dipped in a soft chocolatey coating.

A flood of excited Ben & Jerry’s fans revealed they will be keeping an eye out for the new product in stores.

‘I can’t wait to try!,’ wrote one.

Another said: ‘I want to eat this now’

A third added: ‘NEED to try this!!’  

Pleading for a plant-based version, another wrote: ‘Will you be launching a vegan one too?’ 

The brand took inspiration from ice creams the co-founders made to campaign for peace initiatives in the US during the Eighties 

Social media users have taken to Instagram to reveal their eagerness to try the latest release from Ben & Jerry’s

On sale for £2.20 each or £4 for a multipack of three, Josine Nohlmans who is the brand’s flavour guru revealed the new product is inspired by their history.

Peace Pops were first created by co-founders Ben & Jerry to campaign for peace initiatives in the US, in 1988. 

The brand claim Peace, Love & Cookie Dough is more than just a phrase, saying: ‘We continue to raise a stick for peace, justice & equality today. 

‘From Fairtrade Certified ingredients that champion economic justice, to partnerships and advocacy that seek to educate and mobilise citizens to drive systemic change around the world.’
