Even the biggest fry-up fans would struggle to polish off this brekkie.

Treats Cafe in Weston-Super-Mare dares diners to take on the Big Breakfast Challenge for £19.75.

The gut-busting task involves guzzling 43 English breakfast items, which total 4,000 calories.

A massive plate holds a pile of eggs, sausages, bacon, baked beans, black pudding, tomatoes, bubble and squeak, mushrooms, hash browns and toast.

As you only have 60 minutes to gobble the mountain of food, it’s unsurprising that just three people have completed the challenge to date.

So what happened when SomersetLive reporter Cameron Jenkins took on the huge fry-up? See how they fared below…

As you enter, you will be greeted by what looks like an old traditional English style diner.

The café serves a variety of typical British grub, from full English breakfasts to ham, egg and chips.

I sat down to order my 'Big Breakfast Challenge' which I fully well knew I wouldn't be able to finish.

Considering the sheer size of the meal, it came in quick time.

The member of staff serving your food will arrive with a timer and ask if you'd like him/her to start it.

The challenge requires you to finish the meal within 60 minutes.

Obviously, this part is completely optional.

As you can see I managed to eat for 17 minutes and 46 seconds, which I thought was impressive.

The waiter told me that some people have managed to hit the 45 minute mark.

Although I was informed that to do this and even get close to finishing the breakfast, you need to eat tactically.

My first mistake was starting with the bread, the part that will fill you up the most.

The reward for finishing the breakfast? Having your meal for free and earning a place on the Treats Café hall of fame.

I was told that three people have completed the challenge. That is some achievement.

The café itself was a small, well run friendly diner. Definitely worth a visit even if you don't want to take on the monster breakfast.
