Chrissy Teigen apologises to Courtney Stodden for telling them to commit suicide

Chrissy Teigen has owned up to her past cruel messages to Courtney Stodden, issuing a public apology for her comments in 2011.

Earlier this week 26-year-old Courtney revealed that Chrissy “would privately DM me and tell me to kill myself” after publicly tweeting the she wished Courtney would “go to sleep forever” on Twitter.

Courtney who goes by gender neutral pronouns, said they had first addressed the tweets in an Instagram post last year and had not yet received an apology from Chrissy, 35.

Now Chrissy has admitted her wrongdoing tweeting out: “Not a lot of people are lucky enough to be held accountable for all their past bull**t in front of the entire world.

“I'm mortified and sad at who I used to be. I was an insecure, attention seeking troll. I am ashamed and completely embarrassed at my behavior.”

“I am ashamed and completely embarrassed at my behavior but that is nothing compared to how I made Courtney feel.

“I have worked so hard to give you guys joy and be beloved and the feeling of letting you down is nearly unbearable, truly. These were not my only mistakes and surely won’t be my last as hard as I try but god I will try!!”

She said she had reached out to Courtney and apologies to her directly, writing: “I have tried to connect with Courtney privately but since I publicly fueled all this, I want to also publicly apologize.

"I'm so sorry, Courtney. I hope you can heal now knowing how deeply sorry I am.

Chrissy concluded: “And I am so sorry I let you guys down. I will forever work on being better than I was 10 years ago, 1 year ago, 6 months ago.”

Courtney called Chrissy out in March of this year as a “hypocrite” after Chrissy left Twitter for a short time over receiving negative comments, when she herself had made cruel remarks to Courtney.

Courtney who was only 16 at the time, revealed: "She wouldn't just publicly tweet about wanting me to take ‘a dirt nap’ but would privately DM me and tell me to kill myself. Things like, ‘I can't wait for you to die.’”

She screenshotted a 2011 tweet from the mother-of-two which read: “Saying Courtney Stodden's FB page got shut down for being too sexy is like saying the Nazi's were just meanies. As in, not quite.”

It is not known what caused vitriol from Chrissy’s side but the negative comments began after Courtney controversially married Doug Hutchinson when they were 16 and he was 51.

Courtney responded to Chrissy’s apology to TMZ, stating: "I accept her apology and forgive her. But, the truth remains the same, I have never heard from her or her camp in private. In fact, she blocked me on Twitter.”

Courtney added: “All of me wants to believe this is a sincere apology, but it feels like a public attempt to save her partnerships with Target and other brands who are realizing her 'wokeness' is a broken record."
