Doctor explains why we should all give our mums a vibrator for Mother’s Day

With Mother's Day (March 22) fast approaching, you might be starting to think about getting your mum a gift.

Each year we see shop shelves lined with the same things – chocolates, flowers, mugs and plaques with motivational parenting quotes on them.

The whole thing gets a bit dull, which is why one woman is encouraging people to change up their Mother's Day present this year and pick something rather controversial to give to their mum.

Sexual wellness doctor Elle Voought has teamed up with sex toy brand Kandid to explain why she thinks you should gift your mother a vibrator this year.

  • Woman jokes she no longer needs men after trying sex toy in very honest Amazon review

  • You can get paid £38,000 to test out sex toys and answer questions about them

Dr Voought said: "We hate to break it to you, but your mum probably has sex, and she probably enjoys it too.

"At Kandid, we believe the benefits of sexual pleasure are for everyone – and that includes Mums!

"We've chosen a selected range of toys for Mother's Day gifts, including our Kegel toys which are great for strengthening pelvic floor muscles after giving birth."

She added: "It's the least you could do for your mum, really."

  • 'I went to a BDSM dungeon to learn more about sex and what I saw blew my mind'

Kandid are a new company on a mission to bring adult toys into the mainstream as an inclusive and shame-free sexual wellness tool.

The company’s founders Josh and Greg are aiming to tackle the stigma around sexual pleasure and aim to change judgemental attitudes, particularly for the LGBTQIA+ community.

With a website you could show your Mum without blushing, Kandid are offering 25 percent off selected items this Mother's Day and all items are delivered in discreet, gender neutral packaging.

Co-Founder Greg says: "For many of us, regardless of your sexuality, gender identity or location, opening up about sex or buying a sex toy can be embarrassing, especially if it’s your first time. It can be daunting and unfortunately judged negatively by those closest around us.

"Making people comfortable is so important, as only then will they truly be able to explore their sexual wellbeing and talk more openly about it. We have taken a minimalist approach to branding as a way of conveying comfort and empowering shoppers to feel comfortable and unintimidated."
