I'm ready to leave my abusive ex, but I might be pregnant with his baby

DEAR DEIDRE: JUST as I feel ready to move on from my abusive ex, I think I might be pregnant with his baby. Now I fear I’ll be trapped with him forever.

I feel so depressed and anxious and don’t know what to do.

I’m 30 and have been in an on/off relationship with this guy, who is 38, for 11 years.

He’s always been very controlling and everything has been on his terms.

Although he kept saying we’d get a place together, he moved into my flat but still expected me to pay all the bills and buy the food.

Yet he had money to go out with his friends – who I was never introduced to.

Sex was always on his terms, too.

We broke up several times, but he always made me feel nobody else could love me like him, so I stupidly took him back.

Last month, I had enough and ended it. I ignored his texts and calls and started moving on with my life.

But before we split he convinced me to have unprotected sex during my fertile time. Now my period is two weeks late.

I’m too scared to do a test.
