Comedian Katherine Ryan has revealed that she confronted a colleague and accused him of being a sexual predator.

The 38-year-old said she made the allegation whilst working on a popular TV show and confronted the unnamed man in front of others who were working on the programme.

Katherine made the shock confession on her new Amazon Prime series Backstage With Katherine Ryan to fellow comic Sara Pascoe.

Katherine said that Sara, 41, also knows the alleged predator.

During the show, Katherine said: "I've done a show with a person who I and you believe is a predator. What am I supposed to do?

"I've thought about that, but it's such a messy thing because I don't have proof – what, am I not supposed to feed my children because of someone else?"

She then added: "I raised it. I called him a predator to his face and in front of everyone every day."

Sara also admitted to reporting a male celebrity to a TV channel after she received a phone call from a viewer claiming to have been raped by him.

She said: "Have you ever done a job and then someone's contacted you and said: 'That's my rapist'?

"I had it on a job recently where I've had to go to the channel, and it's that whole thing because you feel such a sense of responsibility but you also want it to be dealt with well.

"It's so complicated."

Katherine joins a long line of high-profile women who have made similar allegations.

They include actress Gwyneth Paltrow, 49, and model Cara Delevingne, 29.

Both women shared their experiences of abuse by disgraced film producer Harvey Weinstein, 70.

It has recently been announced by the Crown Prosecution Service that the Hollywood producer will be charged with two counts of indecent assault against a woman in London.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed on Wednesday it had been authorised to charge the former film-director with the incidents which reportedly took place between 31 July and 31 August, 1996 in the heart of London.

In April, ex-BBC Radio 1 DJ Tim Westwood was accused of sexual misconduct by seven women in a joint investigation by BBC News and The Guardian.

Katherine released her Amazon series on Wednesday.

In it, she interviews comedians including Rob Beckett, Sue Perkins and Jimmy Carr.
