Marie Kondo is feeling all of the joy after welcoming her new baby boy.
On Thursday, the “Tidying Up” author, 36, announced the birth of her third child with husband Takumi Kawahara, posting an Instagram photo of her family’s new addition.
“It’s a boy! I am over the moon to welcome this bundle of joy into our family,” Kondo gushed.
“We are all doing well. Now comes the fun part — spending this special time with our little guy,” she continued.
Married since 2012, Kondo and Kawahara are also proud parents to two young daughters, Satsuki and Miko.
Kondo confirmed in January that she and Kawahara were expecting. At the time, Kondo fueled fan speculation about the sex of their baby-to-be as the organization specialist wore a pink dress and a blue sweater in the social media reveal.
Last spring, Kondo spoke to People about balancing parenthood and the work-from-home lifestyle amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Designate a time for a coffee or tea break. Step away use this time to fully disconnect and recharge,” Kondo said, noting it’s “so important” to create a schedule for kids.
“Whether it’s making breakfast together, reading or doing puzzles,” she advised.
And in the case of a temper tantrum, Kondo also explained how she tries to talk to her kids and understand the root of the issue.
“I think it’s quite natural for kids to have tantrums — when they do, they do!” Kondo expressed.
“I take the time to listen. Once they’ve calmed down, I ask them what’s bothering them and then, to let them know I understand, I say, ‘So that made you sad,’ or ‘That’s what you didn’t like,’” she added.
