McDonald’s has finally released its Christmas advert – but fans of the fast food chain were not prepared for the emotional response they would have.

This festive advert, which is part of McDonald’s #ReindeerReady campaign, is a real tear-jerker. So bring out the pack of tissues.

Titled Inner Child, the ad features an emotional and sadly familiar story which is guaranteed to pull your heartstrings

It also includes a spine-tingling version of the song Forever Young from singing sensation Becky Hill.

It’s an animated, modern-day festive tale which tells the heart-warming story of a mother desperately trying to encourage her teenage son to put his phone down and take part in their family rituals in the lead-up to Christmas.

The story will resonate with both parents and children, as the teenager faces an inner battle many struggle with when they grow up.

McDonald’s fans shared their reaction to the advert on social media – with the consensus being that there were many tears.
