My son can't keep an erection – just like his father

12/20/2021

DEAR DEIDRE: MY son’s marriage is about to go down the pan because he can’t get an erection, just like my husband. Could it be hereditary?

I know it sounds strange that I should even know about this but I’m close to my daughter-in-law and she has said she wants a family but they have never had proper sex.

We’ve always had a difficult sex life as my husband struggles to keep an erection. Could it be an illness?

I haven’t told my son about his father as it would be upsetting for my husband but I want to try to help my son before his marriage is ruined.

DEIDRE SAYS: Some experts believe up to a third of those men suffering from erectile dysfunction can blame it on a genetic cause.

My support pack called Solving Erection Problems will explain more.

Encourage your husband – and your son via your daughter-in-law – to see their GPs and ask for a referral to a urologist, to check that everything is working as it should.
