Watch collectors in need of some inspiration should head to London this October, when one of the world’s greatest private watch collections is the subject of a new international exhibition.

The OAK Collection consists of 160 wrist and pocket watches including “unrepeatable special orders, ultra-rare limited editions and the most valuable examples of their type,” the product of four decades worth of collecting by a single, anonymous collector.

The collection includes the largest number of Patek Philippe pieces once owned by American banker and super collector, Henry Graves Jnr, the man who commissioned the $24m USD Supercomplication.

Both modern and vintage watches will feature in the exhibition that debuts at Kensington’s Design Museum from 8-14 October before going on an international tour.
