Pizza Hut launches 'Nothing But Stuffed Crust' – a crust without pizza

01/07/2021

We’re a week into 2021 and the surprises just keep on coming.

Pizza Hut has launched a new divisive product that’s unlike anything we’ve ever seen before.

The pizza giant has brought out a ‘Nothing But Stuffed Crust’ – which is, as the name suggests, a stuffed crust without the actual pizza in the middle.

The stuffed crust debuted back in 1995, so the bizarre new item is to honour its 25th anniversary.

George Felix, chief marketing officer at Pizza Hut, said: ‘The Original Stuffed Crust pizza was a game changer 25 years ago, and while there have been many imitators, nothing beats Original Stuffed Crust from Pizza Hut. In fact, over the years, we’ve had fans ask us if they could order just the stuffed crust by itself because it’s that good.’

Pizza Hut describes the new product as a ‘literal ring of golden-brown crust baked to perfection with cheesy goodness inside.’

However, it’s worth pointing out that this stuffed crust is currently only available in the US, in Los Angeles and Dallas/Fort Worth.

News of the baked crust has sent social media into a frenzy and is dividing pizza lovers everywhere.

Some are thrilled with the announcement. One person tweeted: ‘This is kind of a dream come true, @pizzahut. Sometimes all I wanted was the stuffed crust and now I can have just that.’

While another said: ‘Why not roll out that “Nothing But Stuffed Crust” pizza to the entire US!? Why you tease Pizza Hut?’

But others are a little unsure…

One individual chipped in: ‘Wouldn’t nothing but stuffed crust just be cheesy breadsticks?’

While another commented: ‘Without going down the topological rabbit hole that proves all hotdogs are tacos… isn’t “nothing but stuffed crust” just a calzone?’

Someone else said: ‘Imagine you die and go to heaven but they run out of halos so they give you a Nothing but Stuffed Crust. I would feel disrespected.’
