Salute our servicemen with deals to celebrate Armed Forces Day

ATTEN-SHUN! It’s time to salute Armed Forces Day. Events are being held across the country in a special celebration to thank our military heroes present and past.

Covid restrictions are still in place but you can still celebrate with some great deals and discounts. These rank highly with me.

ROAST WINNER: All Armed Forces personnel across the UK will be able to claim a free carvery, breakfast or main meal from Toby Carvery at more than 150 locations for today only.

To claim the meal, service personnel should download their voucher through the Toby Carvery app and show it alongside their military ID when ordering. The offer is open to all military personnel, ranging from serving troops and reserves to veterans and cadets.

LONDON CALLING: This is ongoing but certain personnel can claim a Veteran’s Oyster Photocard, which entitles the bearer to free travel at any time on bus, Tube, tram, DLR, London Overground and TFL Rail as well as other services such as the river boat.

If you’re planning a London staycation, it could be worth looking into. Get all the info and contact details at

DEFENCE DISCOUNTS: Veterans and those serving can use the Defence Discount Service.

The scheme offers a range of fantastic deals and offers including fashion, food and more. For example, get 25 per cent off Monday to Friday at Yo Sushi.

You can also get separate discounts at Nando’s, who offer 20 per cent off on orders up to £20 to those who show their ID in restaurants.

If you need toiletries, get ten per cent off at Superdrug with ID and a registered beauty card. Pick up in store or at

SALUTE THE SERVICE: The Armed Forces Day organisers are encouraging everyone to #SaluteOurForces, by sharing snaps with that tag on Twitter @ArmedForcesDay.

– PRICES on this page correct at time of going to press. Deals and offers subject to availability.
