A student was stunned when she met another girl who looks like her "long lost twin" at university – and they were only born a day apart.

In a clip that has been watched more than 5 million times, TikTok user Amy Harriet responds to a viral challenge of confessing something about herself that "sounds false but are 100% true".

She explains: "I think I met my long-lost twin at uni and she's my flatmate."

Amy showed a montage of clips of herself with her pal Grace and the resemblance is eerily close, down to the colour and texture of their ringlets and their light blue eyes.

Sounding baffled, she adds: "Why do we look the same?!"

Unsurprisingly, the clip was "liked" more than 1.5 million times on the video-sharing app and thousands of people left comments, with many saying they thought Amy and Grace really might be related.

"What is this The Parent Trap?" commented one.

Continuing the joke, another person quipped: "So you know you have to go home to each other’s families now?"

"Bro take DNA tests they sell them in Home Bargains," insisted another.

Meanwhile, other people were convinced that being born on different days was not enough to disprove the theory they are "long lost twins".

One person commented: "You can have twins born on different days. Different years if one is born on December 31 and the other on January 1."

"You were born at 11:59 and she was born at 12:01," suggested another.

Amy told Daily Star that she and Grace are not really twins – but the physical likeness is still amazing.
