Adrian Dunbar promises Line of Duty series 6 in 2020 – and lifts lid on first few episodes
03/04/2020ADRIAN Dunbar has promised Line of Duty series six will return in 2020 – before lifting the lid on the first few episodes.
The 61-year-old actor appeared on today's Good Morning Britain to talk about the hit BBC drama, which has recently begun filming its sixth season.
Adrian – who plays Superintendent Ted Hastings – was asked by hosts Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid, who are both fans of the show, when it will be back.
He replied: "Well we don't know, probably the end of the year… maybe January or February, something like that."
The hosts were also keen to find out how much Adrian knows about the new series, as the question of whether Hastings is actually the mysterious 'H' hangs over the character.
He replied: "We usually get three blocks [in a series], six episodes/three blocks.
"At the moment we know what's happening up to the end of episode four. We don't know what's happening in five or six.
"Some people possibly do, but that's where we are at the moment. We certainly don't know what happens in [episode] six."
Adrian stars in the series alongside Martin Compston and Vicky McClure as DS Steve Arnott and DI Kate Fleming.
While the drama is certainly serious, Adrian revealed the cast and crew keep things lighthearted on set while filming.
He said: "It's a serious series. But we do have a laugh, of course we do. You need to to keep it all bubbling along."
That certainly seemed to be the case last month when the show's writer Jed Mercurio posted a funny picture of Martin and Vicky pointing a gun at each other in the middle of the office while Adrian – who some fans think could be H – lay 'dead' on a chair between them.
As the Superintendent lay prone on the chair, a huge white H was propped up against his knees.
