Good Morning Britain host Andi Peters ran off-screen this morning after entering a comical debate with weather reporter Laura Tobin. After explaining the competition rules, Andi explained that you could reach America in a straight line from where he was standing in Jersey. However, Laura snapped back at Andi and informed him his information was wrong.

Throwing back to Laura in the studio, she said: “Just a note for Andi, if he sailed west he would get to Canada and not America, just saying there were quite a few inaccuracies there,”

“Really?” Andi questioned astonished:  “Woah, woah, woah girlfriend, woah, woah, woah, in a straight line from exactly where I’m standing apparently you would get to America.”

She fired back: “On the same latitude? No you wouldn’t, you’d be in Canada,” to which Andi replied: “Oh no, I use line, not latitude I’m out of here.”

He then appeared to then run off camera away from Laura and the debate, to which she laughed: “Okay, hopefully, I’m correct, and Andi is wrong, anyway let’s continue with the weather with many more truths and no lies.”

This isn’t the first time Andi has entered into a wacky debate with his co-stars, as a few weeks ago, he ran off-camera on This Morning.

After explaining the competition rules once more, he decided to run off-camera with the competition cash, exclaiming he’d done a “good days work”.

As he recalled the competition price to viewers, he said: “We will give you £10,000 every month for the next 10 years.

“That’s the big decision to make, the million in one go or what will equate to £1.2million, it’s the biggest amount ever given away here on ITV, [but] first of you’ve got to win it!” he exclaimed.

He continued: “I would love for you to win the £1 million now, but do you know what? I’ve done a good days work,” before proceeding to walk off stage with lumps of cash down his shirt.

The security guards standing behind him allowed him to stroll away with the cash, leaving Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield to jump into gear and take action into their own hands.

Holly shouted: “You put that back Peters immediately, followed by the two burly security guards.”

Phillip, on the other hand, didn’t seem convinced that the security guards were going to be helping them out anytime soon, adding: “Who actually just stood there and let you walk off.”

The hosts laughed it off with Andi as he declared: “That’s how I roll, you see!” as he was able to sneak off with the cash.

Viewers of ITV’s Good Morning Britain and Lorraine were used to seeing Andi host the competition segments of the shows.

However, at the beginning of September, he made his debut on This Morning as host to fill in for Holly and Phillip whilst on their break.

He joined Rochelle Humes after Vernon Kay had to drop out of his debut on the daytime show due to contracting coronavirus.

After being introduced to the show by Rochelle, he said: “Don’t because I’ll get emotional, and we all know how easily I cry on television.

“It’s a real pleasure to be here genuinely,” he expressed.

Viewers of the show were pleased to see Andi step into the role and be on their screens for longer than the minutes he gave the competitions’ rules.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
