Bill Murray Spills He Has Role in ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’

The ‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife’ actor casually reveals during an interview that he has filmed for a Marvel movie directed by Peyton Reed, who happens to direct the ‘Ant-Man’ movies.

AceShowbizBill Murray may now have gotten the calls from Marvel after letting the cat out of the bag. The acting vet has casually spilled the beans that he has a secret role in “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania“, while the studio, which is known for being super secretive about its projects, has not made an announcement about it.

The “Ghostbusters” star let slip about the casting news during an interview for German outlet Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (or FAZ). In the piece published on Tuesday, October 26, the 71-year-old revealed, “You know, recently I made a Marvel movie.” Seemingly realizing he has shared a secret, he said, “I probably won’t tell you, but never mind.”

Murray went on explaining his involvement in the project, “In any case, some people were quite surprised why I decided on such a project. But for me the thing was quite clear: I got to know the director – and really liked him very much.”

He dropped more hints about the film while praising the director he’s got to work with. “He was funny, humble, everything you want from a director,” he raved. “And with the cheerleader story ‘Bring It On’ he made a movie years ago, which I think is damn good. So I agreed, although I’m not interested in these huge comic book adaptations as an actor otherwise.”

While Murray never mentioned the movie’s title, all clues are leading to “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania”. “Bring It On” was directed by Peyton Reed, who happens to direct “Ant-Man” and its sequels, including the forthcoming third movie.

Disney has not confirmed Murray’s supposed part in the movie.

Several stars set to reprise their roles for “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” include Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly as the titular characters, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym and Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet van Dyne. Jonathan Majors is cast as the main villain, Kang the Conqueror, while Kathryn Newton will play the grown up version of Scott Lang’s (Rudd) daughter Cassie.
