Celebrity MasterChef: Katie Price crashes out after disastrous quarter-final08/27/2021
Katie Price has crashed out of Celebrity MasterChef after a disastrous round, leaving Joe Swash and Dion Dublin going through to the semi-final.
The 43-year-old was sent home by judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace after the tricky test, which saw the stars serve up their own creations to fellow celebs Vicky Pattison, Sophie Thompson and John John Partridge.
Viewers watched her struggle in the kitchen as she admitted that it wasn’t ‘going to plan at all’.
John urged her to believe in herself as she plated up a main course of rib-eye steak, portobello mushrooms, tomatoes, beef-dripping chips and a béarnaise sauce.
She warned the diners of her ‘disastrous attempt’, before rushing back to the kitchen to prepare a dessert of bread and butter pudding, topped with pistachios.
Unfortunately, the judges weren’t too impressed with Katie’s dishes, complaining of undercooked steak and chips, and didn’t love her sauce.
The mum-of-five became the latest contestant eliminated, with Joe Swash going through in her place.
Speaking of her exit, she confessed: ‘There’s no excuses, you win some, you lose some.
‘But I’m so proud of everything I achieved. I did try today but I just couldn’t pull it out of the bag.
‘It is what it is but I’ve had a fantastic time.’
While it was bad news for Katie, her co-stars couldn’t help but celebrate their success.
’Semi-finals. I’ve got through to the semi-finals of MasterChef,’ Dion said. ‘The last eight people, I’m one of them! Absolutely buzzing.’
‘I’m proud. I’m a little bit shocked,’ Joe agreed. ‘I can’t wait to get home and tell my family.
‘I hope their expectations of me are not rising. Because the better I learn to cook here, the more Stacey’s going to be on my back about producing some of the food at home.’
Celebrity MasterChef continues on Monday, at 9pm, on BBC One.
