Changing Rooms viewers rip into 'revolting' makeover as they rage at designers for 'destroying' property | The Sun09/01/2022
CHANGING ROOMS viewers were left shocked after seeing a dramatic design inspired by the mood of the 70s.
The Channel 4 show stars interior designers bringing daring design dreams to life.
In Wednesday's episode, presenter Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen and designer Whinnie Williams visited two adjoining houses in the historic village in Yorkshire.
Mum and son Sonya and Christian transformed each other's pokey kitchen and living room.
Christian wanted to modernise his mum's kitchen.
Laurence worked on creating a "modern bright kitchen" with a "bit of history."
The Georgian-inspired colour palette included a lemon yellow, with a white for an airy feel and a smoky blue.
Meanwhile, Sonya desired to update son Christian's living space.

Whinnie opted for a complete opposite design to Laurence's modern take with a 1970s makeover for the photographer's room.
Her design is "all about texture," which includes a velvet curtain separating two areas with a colour block design.
The bold orange gave a retro feel, which was enhanced by the geometric wall.
Whinnie said she is "bringing it back" with the textured ceiling.

However, viewers did not agree with Whinnie's ideas after seeing the end result.
Taking to Twitter, one viewer said: "Awful #ChangingRooms."
Another wrote: "So far every design I’ve seen Whinnie do on here and another show she was on, I’ve hated. #changingrooms."
A third penned: "Georgian? That one is more retro now. Talk about destroying a beautiful room. It was gorgeous before."
