French dance group Les Sancho failed to impress Simon Cowell on the latest instalment of Britain’s Got Talent. Simon even buzzed the act midway through their performance after the group failed to live up to his high expectations. However, fellow judge David Walliams hit out at Simon after he criticised the group’s performance which almost caused Simon to leave the panel.

Following Les Sancho’s routine on the live ITV show, hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly asked what “Mr Grumpy” thought about the act.

Addressing the group, Simon replied: “I buzzed you, I’ll tell you why, it’s because I loved your first audition because it was all about fun.”

As the crowd continued to jeer and boo, Simon told them to “shut up” so he could deliver his critique.

He added: “[I want] fun, personality, surprises, this was everything I have seen before with a dance group but at other times it was better.

“So I think for the semi-finals you have got to be better than your first audition.”

When Ant and Dec asked David what he thought of the dance routine, he turned to Simon and fumed: “Why don’t you just go home?”

Simon got up from his seat and replied saying: “I will!”

The judge started walking away from the rest of the panel and waved at both David and the audience.

However, before he made it backstage, David leaned toward his microphone and said: “No don’t go, because you pay our wages.”

Simon returned to his seat following the jibe and continued on with the rest of the instalment.

After a night full of entertainment singer Tom Ball was crowned the winner and comedian Eva Abley made it through to the final in second place.

Following his triumph, teacher Tom said: “I can’t thank my school enough, they have all been supporting me.”

After Eva made it through to the final Simon walked onto the stage to shake her hand while she was in shock.

They will be joining singer Maxwell Thorpe and ventriloquist Jamie Leahey in Sunday’s grand final.

Other acts who have landed a place in the final are impressionist Ben Nickless and musical duo Flintz & T4ylor.

Simon did hint there could be “one or even two wild cards” used to bring back some performers who had been voted off.

Simon’s Golden buzzer act, singer Loren Allred, will be performing in Thursday night’s semi-final.

Fans will recall Loren appeared on the first episode of the latest series where she gave a stunning rendition of Never Enough from The Greatest Showman.

She told Simon and his fellow judges she was the original singer of the ballad and they were dazzled by her emotional performance.

Britain’s Got Talent continues on Thursday at 8pm on ITV.
