Bobby Beale (played by Clay Milner Russell) has had a troubled life on EastEnders but his romance with Dana Monroe (Barbara Smith) seems to have turned things around for him. With support from the likes of Iqra (Priya Davdra), he has managed to find peace and solace in religion but this has also seen him suffer abuse from those who don’t believe in his faith. In upcoming scenes on the BBC soap, an event is going to make the residents of Walford rethink their lives on the Square and it could be Bobby is going to make a permanent exit from the show alongside Iqra as they decide to start a new chapter of their lives.
The drama begins as the fallout from New Year’s Eve continues to send shockwaves around Walford, with many residents affected by what happened.
Two people who aren’t deterred by the events are Bobby and Iqra, who continue to campaign but the latter has some news for her friend.
She explains she has secured a new job away from the Square and they are wanting her to start sooner than expected, derailing her plans.
With this being a huge step towards making her future better, she is worried about what will happen and how she will cope.
Although he doesn’t want her to go, as she is one of his only friends, Bobby tells her she will be OK and a new start is a good thing.
As Iqra continues with her plans to leave with the support and encouragement of her friend, Bobby is soon on another mission.
The young man’s mind is left racing when he notices something and wants to find out the truth about his discovery, albeit on his own.
When confronted by those who want to stop him, the troubled character stands up for himself and shocks those around him in doing so.
He continues to pursue his venture but unfortunately, he might not realise his hunch could get him into more trouble than he ever expected.
Wanting to get closer to the truth, he has to think on his feet and begin telling lies to determine what it is he is looking for.
I hate that it’ll end badly
In the end, he promises to drop whatever it is he is searching for but he is left feeling uncomfortable for apologising for his actions.
With this in mind, he might not think he has the support in Walford he needs and knows the only person who would have backed him was Iqra.
Needing a fresh start and wanting to leave the troubles of his past behind him, Bobby could decide he, too, is going to leave.
Instead of coming back sometime in the future, the young man could explain to his loved ones the Square holds too many dark memories.
As his latest mission has also been stopped in his tracks, he could think it is time for him to find a new focus instead of one which lands him in trouble all the time.
Bobby has been a character on the show since he was born in 2003 to mother Laura Beale (Hannah Waterman) and father, Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt).
The early years of his life saw him as a character who wouldn’t say boo to a ghost but in 2015, his life changed forever.
It was revealed he had killed his sister, Lucy Beale (Hetti Bywater), accidentally but this began a dark chapter in his life.
He ended up attacking his stepmother, Jane Beale (Laurie Brett) and spent years in a juvenile detention centre paying for his crimes.
If he were to leave the show, it would have a huge impact on the Beale family and it might be the break he needs after so much heartache over the years.
Iqra’s exit would be monumental as she is the last remaining member of the Masood/Ahmed family on the Square, a family who first arrived in 2007.
Flash forward and 14 years later, the iconic clan would be gone from the Square for good as too many ghosts haunt them in Walford.
Having joined the show in 2019, Iqra’s three-year stint would finally be at an end but with the character leaving with her life intact, there is always the chance she could return in the future.
Her girlfriend Mila Marwa (Ruthxjiah Bellenea) and her sister Kioni Marwa (Florisa Kamara) would also be going with her.
So will Bobby complete their new little family as he plans to learn from his past to make a better future for himself?
Taking to Twitter, it seems fans of the show adore the character of Bobby and his relationship with Dana and don’t want him to leave.
Spark Loaf wrote on the social media platform: “If Eastenders kill off Dana, I’m done with it. She and Bobby are good together #EastEnders.”
Zero posted: “I’m really worried for bobby and dana now, all that talk about the future must be foreshadowing #EastEnders.”
Debbie added: “Dana and Bobby are one of the sweetest couples the show’s had for years. I hate that it’ll end badly #EastEnders.”
EastEnders continues Thursday at 7:40pm on BBC One.
