Bernie Taylor (played by Clair Norris) left EastEnders in Friday’s episode after Keegan Baker (Zack Morris) decided against visiting brother Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters). However, as Bernie struggles to come to terms with her choice of being Rainie (Tanya Franks) and Stuart Highway’s (Ricky Champ) surrogate, will Keanu return to Walford to help support his family?
In Friday’s instalment of the BBC soap, Bernie was stunned when Rainie’s drugs test was negative.
EastEnders star Clair explained why the result shocked the mum-to-be so much.
She said: “Bernie thinks the worst and expects the test to be positive after Raine’s change in behaviour and seeing her with what she thinks to be a dealer.
“She genuinely believes that’s what is happening in front of her and jumps to conclusions rather than seeing the bigger picture.

“Finding out the test is negative is a real shock but something still doesn’t sit right in her.”
The day before the test, Keegan announced to Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) and Bernie that he needed time away from the square.
Meanwhile, Bernie was also struggling with her own concerns about the surrogacy.
“Everything is overwhelming for Bernie at this point,” the EastEnders actress revealed.
“Her concerns of staying pregnant are still a massive focus for her as well as is the stress of still thinking that Raine is lying about using again.
“Also the pressure from her family knowing she could be carrying a baby for a drug addict becomes too much, she thinks they are thinking I told you so.”
In the Queen Vic, Bernie and Keegan shared a heart-to-heart as the sandwich maker opened up about his marriage to Tiffany Butcher (Maisie Smith).
Keegan asked his sister: “Can you promise me you’ll look after Tiff when I’m away.”
“No,” Bernie replied. “You can’t walk out on your wife not if you think she’s in trouble.”

“Bernie I haven’t got time for this my train’s in an hour and I’ve got to pack,” he hit back.
“If your gut is telling you something isn’t right you’ve got to listen Keegan look me in the eye and tell me you’re 100 percent sure you’re doing the right thing,” Bernie quipped.
When Karen met the pair to say goodbye to her son, Bernie announced she would be leaving instead.
Clair continued: “She sees her chance to take Keegan’s place and visit Keanu and goes for it.
“Keanu and Bernie have always had a close brother and sister relationship and knows he can make this all seem and feel better.”

Although Bernie refused to tell Karen when she plans to return, will Keanu realise his sister needs to face her responsibility and return to Walford with her?
Clair added: “I think that Bernie is overwhelmed with everything a definitely needs some time away to clear her head, she needs a break.
“I think it will do her good to get away, take care of herself and the baby for a bit, that’s her number one priority.
“We know Bernie will be returning to Walford but who knows what she will be coming back to.
She knows how much this is going to hurt Stuart and Rainie but Bernie is determined to put the baby first.”
EastEnders airs on BBC One on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
