Good Morning Britain saw a fiery clash breaking out as royal writer Tom Bower blasted the Sussexes over the upcoming publication. Historian and writer Tessa Dunlop hit back at the author for “raking it in” off the couple’s “misfortune”. The two continued to clash as ITV hosts Susanna Reid and Ed Balls attempted to calm the heated debate.

As Tom expressed his view the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are making their money by “damaging” the Royal Family, Tessa accused him of “rank hypocrisy”.

“That is precisely what it is,” she argued. “You talk about them making their fortune in Montecito, arguably Harry with good reason, he’s had a pretty rough ride in his young life.

“Meanwhile you’re sitting there in your little establishment position raking it in off the back of their arguably misfortune or fortune depending on how you spin the coin.”

She added: “We all have books to promote” and labelled Tom as “appalling”.

It came as Ed pointed out Tom himself had made money by publishing books about the Royal Family.

“You’ve not got a title we can strip from you,” he commented.

“But you will have had lots of people who did talk to you off the record almost certainly with titles.

“Now, Harry’s doing it on the record and you want to remove his titles but what about all your sources?”
