HBO Max and HBO Top 44 Million Subscribers04/22/2021
HBO Max and HBO have reached 44.2 million U.S. subscribers, AT&T revealed in its first-quarter 2021 earnings report Thursday. That’s up from the 41 million combined subs the company reported at the end of 2020, a tally that beat the company’s initial projection by two years.
To put that in context: Disney+ shot past 28 million subscribers within its first three months and last month surpassed 100 million subscribers, a milestone it reached years ahead of schedule. AT&T reported at the end of January that it has around 61 million subscribers between HBO and HBO Max around the world, and now has nearly 64 million globally.
The ad-supported tier of the $14.99/month HBO Max will launch in the U.S. in June. A price has not yet
