Hollyoaks star reveals 'lovely' new scenes for Ethan and Darren

03/31/2023

The Hollyoaks bromance that we just can’t get enough of will be back on our screens shortly, as Ethan Williams (Mathew James Bailey) and Darren Osborne (Ashley Taylor Dawson) enjoy some time together.

The two characters, who first crossed paths when Ethan and dastardly girlfriend Maya (Ky Discala) kidnapped Darren, have become the best of friends and are often there for each other in times of need.

Darren is certainly in need of support right now, following Nancy’s (Jessica Fox) departure in the wake of baby Morgan needing heart surgery, and Ethan is on hand to offer a friendly ear.

‘I can confirm there are a couple more scenes coming up for Ethan and Darren!,’ actor Matthew James Bailey told Metro.co.uk. ‘Which is really nice, because they’ve got that lovely little bromance going on.

‘There are some lovely scenes coming up for those two, because I think it’s about time that they came back on screen, you know?’

We couldn’t agree more.

‘This is the thing, Ethan wants to be there more for his friends’, continued Matthew. ‘You’re going to see that on screen very soon, I think.’

Ethan, meanwhile, may find himself with some competition for Sienna Blake’s (Anna Passey) affection, when newcomer Rafe (Chris Gordon) arrives in the village.

We’re watching you, Sienna.

Ethan, as viewers know, is headed over heels for Sienna, so we’re hoping he won’t have his heart broken again.

‘Ethan is secure in his relationship with Sienna,’ Matthew told us.

‘He knows it’s strong and, no matter what obstacles get thrown at them, they’ll always find a way back to each other – and they’ll always find a way back to each other, regardless of what happens.

‘I think Ethan is going to be on his guard – and I think that’s all I can really say right now! [laughs].  But he should he worried for a little bit, I think.’

Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 7pm on E4, or stream first look episodes daily on All4.
