Jessa Duggar's husband Ben shades Jill's husband Derick & says 'it's sinful to be rude' after he rips Jim Bob's 'lies'12/15/2021
JESSA Duggar's husband Ben shaded his brother-in-law Derick after the reality star called out Jim Bob's "manipulation and lies."
The 32-year-old recently slammed his father-in-law after the eldest Duggar sibling, Josh was found guilty of child pornography.
Ben seemed to have taken a jab at Derick's comments in a lengthy Facebook post encouraging "kindness and courtesy."
The post read: "Rudeness is not the antidote to an extreme 'political correctness.'
"In fact, it’s sinful to be rude. The Scriptures call Christians to “honor all men” (1 Peter 2:17), and “Show perfect courtesy to all people” (Titus 3:2).
"We can be marked by kindness and courtesy, and still be bold and courageous in confronting evil, even to the point of giving a “sharp rebuke” (Titus 1:13) when needed.
"What’s the key? How can we be show honor and courtesy and yet, when needed, be stern and sharp?
"They key is love (notice the reason for the sharp rebuke of Titus 1:14 “that they may be sound in the faith.” It’s not to get applause from your tribe. The motive that is to drive the tone of the rebuke is concern for the spiritual well-being of the one at fault).

"Love will cause you to be humble, to seek the best interest of the other person, and to endure suffering for the good of others and the glory of God.
"Rudeness, on the other hand, is weakness. It is a fleshly and fallen response, venting ungodly passion with a prideful and self-righteous disdain for the other person.
"It’s an expression of disgust for the sinner (forgetting that you too are sinful) that cares nothing for their ultimate restoration and recovery from their fault.
"It is simply the impulse of those who have not sufficiently learned self-control and patience and love from the Holy Spirit. Rudeness doesn’t take into consideration the glory of God.
"It’s too busy seeking “likes” and “retweets.” It’s too busy seeking the glory that comes from man to consider what the will of the Lord is for us in response to sin and error."
Derick – who is married to Jessa's sister Jill – shared a different sentiment on his Facebook page earlier this week, specifically calling out Jim Bob and his "abusive" behavior.
The girl's cousin Amy Duggar, 35, took to her Instagram Story on Tuesday to share a screenshot of Derick's comment.
He wrote: “It’s sad that this isn’t an isolated incident. I used to have much respect for Jim Bob, as my father-in-law, and I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt for years.
“Unfortunately it’s only become clearer to us over time just how deep this man’s manipulation and deceit will go for his own gain, at the expense of others.”
The Counting On alum continued: “He has lied to my wife and I numerous times.
“Contrary to his campaign, he does not believe in freedom, but his manipulation has resulted in what is akin to human trafficking.”
Derick claimed that Jim Bob, 56, is “not humble” in private, adding that his father-in-law is “defensive and verbally abusive.”
He continued: “When he says he cannot be bought, the truth is that he has a history of being a sellout to anything that he can personally profit from, and he will justify it however he wants to continue his personal agenda.
“Again, if he has lied and continues to lie to his best friends and his own family, will he LIE to YOU?!”
Derick made the comment on Jim Bob's former friend Jim Holt’s Facebook post.
The men are no longer friends after Jim called Jim Bob a liar and Jim’s wife, Bobye Holt, testified that Josh admitted he molested minors during the recent trial.
Earlier this month, Josh, 33, was found guilty of both possessing and receiving child pornography, and he was ordered straight into custody.
Derick, who has been critical of Jim Bob and many in the Duggar family in the past, had an "awkward" run-in with the patriarch at Josh's trial.
According to The Sun reporter inside the trial, Derick had been sitting in the front row of the courtroom, right next to Josh's wife Anna.
When Jim Bob approached Anna during a break, he passed Derick, and offered only a simple "Hello."
Derick said a faint "Hi" back.
As Jim Bob hugged his daughter-in-law and stayed in the first row, Derick moved to the back, to sit with Jason, Joy-Anna, her husband Austin Forsyth, Jana and other loved ones.
Derick did not return to the front row when the break ended even though there was seating available.
Jill and Derick have been distancing themselves from her famous family for years, trying to move away from her strict upbringing and the conservative rules set by her parents.
A major turning point arrived in 2015 when it emerged that Josh molested five underage girls, including Jill.
She and Derick quit their family reality show, Counting On, two years later and have amped up their feud with Jim Bob.
The father-of-two claimed that Jim Bob had tried to force him to sign an NDA in 2019 but that "the truth" was more important, and that the show had "begged" Jill and Derick to return but they refused.
The couple have often publicly condemned the Duggar family patriarch, as well as others in the family and the severe rules members are supposed to follow.
