Kate often gets up every two hours in the night to help the overnight carer to move him in bed, and she has to wash and change his bed linen seven times a day.

She juggles that with getting up in the early hours to host Good Morning Britain and looking after their two children.

Kate and Derek share daughter Darcey, 16, and Bill, 12.

Viewers got to see the star – albeit in pre-recorded form on Garraway's Good Stuff today where she interviewed singers Peter Andre and James Bay.
