Love Island stars and their adorable dogs – including Amber Davies’ ‘son’ Oreo

06/24/2021

Love isn't just found in a fancy villa in Majorca, it can also come in the form of a four-legged furry friend.

And with Love Island back on our screens on Monday, June 28 on ITV2, TeamDogs has looked at former contestants who have adorable doggy pals.

Here are 11 former Love Islanders that have the most gorgeous dogs:

Kady McDermott

Kady has described her adorable micro-pom Cody as the ‘love of her life’ on Instagram. The four-year-old pooch ended up in intensive care for eight days in 2018 after his trachea collapsed.

In a post celebrating his third birthday, Kady said: “This little bundle of fluff is the love of my life and my best friend. He is always there for a cuddle through my ups and my lows and has been my right-hand man for the last three years. I would be so, so lost without him.”

Dani Dyer

Whilst Dani Dyer doesn’t have a dog of her own, she’s given herself the role of babysitter for her dad – EastEnders’ actor Danny Dyer’s – dog, Gypsy.

Dani was seen cuddling the merle British Bulldog puppy in a post in November 2019, where she said: “I have never been a person who likes animals over humans or all that sort. (No offence to anybody who does) I have always been top busy or active to really enjoy a dog and spend time with one.

"But for some reason I have just fallen so in love with little baby Gypsy.”

Kem Cetinay

Kem and his bull-breed Rocky are like two peas in a pod, and the former Islander is always posting pictures of his pooch.

During the pandemic, many pet owners found solace from loneliness in their pets – and Kem was among them.

Posting to Instagram, he wrote: “We’ve had our fair share of arguments, but I wouldn’t have been able to do lockdown without you Rocky.”

Rocky has been with Kem through thick and thin. The dog’s gorgeous face was Kem’s first-ever Instagram post back in March 2014, more than seven years ago.

Amber Davies

In December 2019, Amber shared an adorable photo of a new puppy with the caption: “I always knew my firstborn would be a furry. Meet my new son, Oreo”

The one-year-old Jackapoo is a poodle crossed with a Jack Russell terrier, and comically has one floppy ear and one that stands on end!

The puppy is one for the limelight just like his mum, with his own Instagram account with more than 5,500 followers. Oreo also made an appearance on the ITV show Olivia Meets Her Match in December 2020.

Olivia and Alex Bowen

Love Island couple Olivia and Alex Bowen share their Essex home with their two French Bulldogs Winnie and Reggie, who appear frequently on their Instagram page – even helping the pair with their DIY and decorating!

The pair came second on Love Island in 2016, getting engaged the following year. In 2017, Alex appeared on an episode of Say Yes To The Dress, and they wed in September 2018 in Essex.

Amber Rose Gill

Obi the spaniel was Amber’s first-ever Instagram post in April 2015, and has regularly featured in photos since.

Amber most recently posted a picture of five-year-old Obi in January 2020 with the caption: “He doesn’t say much but I don’t mind.”

When she left the Love Island villa to return home in 2019, Amber posted a video to her Instagram stories showing Obi showering her with kisses during a teary reunion.

Jess Hayes

Winner of the first series of Love Island Jess Hayes is mum to Prince Pablo the pomeranian, who also has his own Instagram account, with 882 followers.

The dog is nearly three years old, and is often found in Jess’s arms for an Insta photo.

Pablo is best friends with Jess’s son, Presley James, and the pair are often papped together.

In one post, Jess wrote: “Name a better duo.”

Cally Jane Beech

Cally is the proud owner of a cockapoo called Dennis. Whilst he’s not featured in many photos, it’s clear he’s found a life-long friend in Cally’s daughter Vienna.

The former dental nurse has had dogs for a number of years, previously owning a Bichon Frise and Shih Tzu-cross poodles.

Scott Thomas

Brother of soap stars Adam and Ryan Thomas, Scott dated Kady McDermott on Love Island in 2016.

The former club promoter now owns his own PR company – as well as a gorgeous Doberman called Juno.

Introducing the puppy to his 900,000 fans, Scott said: “Since I was a kid I always wanted my very own dog and I’ve been thinking about it for so long. Sometimes you’ve just got to ask yourself what are you actually waiting for. Life is far too short. I feel like with my new lifestyle I’m now in a position to five one a good home.

“So on that note, meet my new baby Doberman Juno.”

Camilla Thurlow and Jamie Jewitt

Camilla and Jamie have been together since they met on Love Island in 2017, having a baby – Nell – in 2020.

The duo have two French Bulldogs called Audrey and Gus, and Audrey’s favourite spot during Camilla’s pregnancy was right on the baby bump!

The protective pooch was papped in a photo captioned: “Audrey practicing her babysitting duties”

The sweet snap racked up over 100,800 likes – but Camilla is yet to post a photo of the full family of five!

Jack Fincham

Jack Fincham’s right-paw man is a black Cane Corso called Elvis – but the reality TV star quickly came under fire for the dog's cropped ears. While this is an illegal practice in the UK, Jack revealed Elvis was imported from Russia by Protection Dogs WorldWide.

Posting a photo of himself with Elvis, he said: “This boy couldn’t have come at a better time for me. He has helped me in so many ways. My partner in crime. Elvis the king.”

Jack also owns a British Bulldog named Sandy, who he bought with former partner and fellow Love Islander, Dani Dyer.
