Lysette Anthony confirms Hollyoaks exit as Marnie dies?01/12/2022
Lysette Anthony’s latest Instagram posts have left Hollyoaks fans wondering if she is leaving the show.
The actress, who portrays Marnie Nightingale, took to Instagram in the wake of the Channel 4 soap’s explosive stunt episode to pay tribute to several of her fellow cast members.
First up was Gregory Finnegan, who plays her on-screen son James.
‘Cleverer than you can imagine, the kind of funny that snaps bones, the best of friends,’ she wrote on the social media platform.
‘The longest huffs, the truest heart.. my boy Nightingale .. his boys tell him that he’s WAY to old to be my son. Obvs! But a keeper.. @gregory_finnegan.’
Lysette was also full of praise for Donna-Marie Quinn star Lucy-Jo Hudson, describing her as a ‘wonder.’
‘This girl, all heart, but killer instincts,’ she said. ‘Superb @lucyjo_hudson . My partner in thé, the sneaker in of treats, a true friend. A wonder.’
While fans very much agreed with Lysette’s comments about her co-stars, some were left concerned that they were indicative that she had left the show.
‘Are you leaving???’, exclaimed one, ‘please you are one of my faves.’
‘please don’t say your leaving hollyoaks the village,’ another added. ‘won’t be the same without you… marnie everyone loves marnie xx’
Hollyoaks latest episode saw a horrifying explosion tear through Marine’s beloved patisserie, putting several of the soap’s finest in danger.
Sylver McQueen (David Tag) ultimately perished in the blaze, while Juliet (Niamh Blackshaw), Toby and Cleelste Faroe’s (Bobby Gordon and Andrea Ali) fates were left uncertain.
Marnie, meanwhile, seemingly escaped the blaze mostly unscathed. The character, however, did have a head wound, which left fans wondering if she could die at a later stage.
Hollyoaks continues Wednesday January 12 at 7pm on E4.
