Disney Plus officially launched in the UK earlier this year with the first season of Star Wars show The Mandalorian being one of the flagship stories. However, fans might be curious to know how many episodes there were in total.

How many episodes are in The Mandalorian?

Star Wars fans had been eagerly awaiting the launch of Disney+ to be able to get their hands on the long-awaited series The Mandalorian.

This comes after the series was first released in the US when the streaming service launched there back in November 2019.

However, not all of the episodes were made available at the time of launch.

This is because Disney decided not to release all the episodes at once, as other streaming services do.

Instead, the company confirmed it was making two episodes available to stream when it launched on March 24.

Then the third episode was then made available to stream on Friday, March 27 for viewers.

After this, Disney released the episodes on a weekly basis on Fridays.

In total, there were eight episodes of the series for fans to be able to watch.

Will there be another series of The Mandalorian?

While the series has only just started, viewers might be eager to know whether the show has been commissioned for a second outing.

Well Baby Yoda fans should rejoice as Disney has already given the go-ahead to showrunner Jon Favreau for season two.

This is due to be released on the platform on October 30 this year.

Once again, episodes will be dropping weekly in the new series.

The second season of The Mandalorian is not the only Star Wars series planned as Disney is also planning an Obi-Wan Kenobi live-action series.

This will focus on Ewan McGregor’s version of the character and was due to start filming imminently.

However, production was also halted on this to allow time for script rewrites.

Therefore, viewers will have to keep their eyes peeled about when each of the new shows could launch on Disney+.

The Mandalorian is now available to stream on Disney+.
