An outspoken portion of viewers are still convinced James ‘Ghost’ St. Patrick (played by Omari Hardwick) actually survived the final season of Power. With the Starz series currently taking a hiatus from its new spin-offs, could some new theories finally prove Ghost will eventually make his return?

A key sequence from the final season of Power may finally prove Ghost will eventually return in a future spin-off.

Several fans have already speculated the powerful crime lord faked his death after being shot by his son Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr.) in season six.

Popular theories suggest Ghost was actually able to escape in an ambulance, which featured prominently during a brief sequence directly after his murder.

Rumours have since circulated that showrunner Courtney Kemp eventually plans to reveal Ghost went into hiding, and will eventually emerge to take back control of New York.

Now, a crucial clue spotted during a pivotal moment for Ghost’s wife Tasha (Naturi Naughton) may have proved the ambulance theory once and for all.

When Tasha enters the back of her car and points her gun out the windshield, she appears to notice the same ambulance that passes by Tariq after Ghost’s apparent murder.

One observant viewer recently took to YouTube with a comprehensive video explaining their findings.

They said: “As you can clearly see, there is an ambulance with its backdoors completely open parked in the parking lot of the club.”

“If you look very, very closely you can tell that the windows of this ambulance truck are the same as the windows of the very same ambulance truck that passed Tariq.”

While Tasha’s ambulance is frustratingly out of focus, a close inspection seems to reveal the truck as the same vehicle spotted behind Tariq.

Still frames from the scenes in question appear to confirm the two trucks feature identical windows and lights.

Moreover, the vehicle’s positioning outside Ghost’s club, Truth, further solidifies it as a crucial component of his escape plan.

The viewer continued: “If you look closely you can tell the ambulance is actually facing the exit of the parking lot and that outside of the parking lot there is a green street sign.

“We can clearly tell that the truck was parked there and it’s obvious that an associate of James was the one who was actually there.”

While Ghost was expecting his plan to go down with Tasha pulling the trigger, this theory would explain why he was genuinely surprised to see his son walk out to confront him.

Once his staged death had been put in motion, more evidence from Power’s follow-up, Book II: Ghost, has given further support to the current theories.

The very same ambulance also seems to appear during Tariq’s emotional confession to Ghost’s grave in the first season of the new spin-off.

Some viewers are even convinced that Ghost was present at the scene, and has been watching over his son during his time at Stansfield.

As Tariq decides whether or not he truly wants to follow in his father’s footsteps, could the upcoming second season of Book II confirm fans’ theories and bring Ghost back from the dead?

Power Book II is available to watch on Starz and Starzplay.
