The promo cuts to a scene between Jughead and Donna Sweett (Sarah Desjardins) in a tense conversation.
“I knew you weren’t really dead!” Donna tells Jughead.
The scene pans out to see Jughead addressing a couple of the other members of Stonewall Prep as well teacher Francis Dupont (Malcolm Stewart).
“Don’t worry, I’m going to take you through it step by step,” Jughead explains as fans will get to the heart of the hoax.
In the tradition of Agatha Christie and other mysteries, The Locked Room will play out like a denouement as all will be revealed.
Jughead begins, telling the others: “It’s a time-tested genre of a locked room mystery.”
Betty finishes his sentence, teasing with a smile: “But there’s a twist.”
The trailer comes to a close and judging from the lack of plot summary or synopsis for the episode, The CW doesn’t want to give anything away.

Riverdale: Why is Skeet Ulrich leaving Riverdale? [EXPLAINER]
The episode will follow on from this week’s dramatic instalment which gave fans some relief and started to answer some questions.
As suspected, Jughead wasn’t dead but had planned an elaborate hoax with his friends amid an investigation into his school Stonewall Prep.
Also, it turned out it wasn’t elitist jock Bret who was behind the machinations at the school but the unassuming Donna.
The teen was nearly killed by Donna and co from Stonewall Prep as they tried to pin the blame on Archie Andrews (KJ Apa) and his friends.

The kids from Stonewall Prep were hoping to commit the perfect murder but they were foiled by Jughead and his friends.
Luckily, Jughead had survived after he was bashed on the back of his head with a rock – thanks to his iconic beanie.
Jughead had been hiding out in the bunker the whole time he was supposedly six feet under in a bid to convince his fellow Stonewall classmates he was gone.
As part of the ruse, Betty had to go to some extreme lengths to convince the Stonewall Prep gang her beloved boyfriend had died.
Betty even made out with Archie pretty openly to convey her grief-stricken state of mind, all the while Jughead was getting ready to take his real would-be killers down.
In true Riverdale style, The Locked Room is going to be seeing all the pieces coming together and a new intrigue taking over.
Riverdale airs on The CW in the US on Wednesdays at 8/7c and on Netflix UK on Thursdays
