It seems like an eternity since the last series of Stranger Things hit our TV screens but finally the writers of the show have teased that season 4 is on its way.

Oh and of course, they just uploaded a cryptic video to Twitter.

The third season of the programme ended with Hopper being seemingly killed off, sacrificing himself to help close the rift between our world and the Upside Down.

But a teaser trailer previously shared by creators The Duffer Brothers, Hopper is now stuck in Kamchatka but so far that’s all we’ve known.

Production on Stranger Things 4 was halted last March as the world shut down over the spread of coronavirus and this delay in filming has resulted in fans being on the edge of their seat.

Thankfully today the show writers have left us a clue as to what is in store for us this season.

They shared a video of a variety of old school televisions playing with fuzzy screens as an operatic song can be heard in the background.

Occasionally images like a bloodied eight ball from a game of billiards and what looks like a door handle flash up on a screen before disappearing again.

‘Due to technical difficulties, Hawkins National Laboratory will be closed until further notice. We will be back in service tomorrow at 9:00AM ET,’ the description reads.

This was enough to send fans into a tailspin.

‘Ok so which smart fan is gonna decode what this means bc i dont have the brainpower for it (sic),’ one person tweeted.

‘IM GONNA SCREAM OMG (sic),’ said another.

Many are taking the eight TV screens as well as the appearance of the eight ball to mean Kali Prasad, also known as Eight (played by Linnea Berthelsen), will be returning this season.

Stranger Things season four is expected to return to Netflix in 2021.
