It looks as though the curtains could soon be drawing on Strictly Come Dancing star Annabel Croft.

The 57-year-old, who is partnered with professional dancer Johannes Radebe, has remained consistent with her performances since the competition began.

Last week, the former tennis star received her second-highest score from the judges after being awarded an impressive 29 for her Jive routine.

However, as other celebrities in the competition are going from strength to strength, with two 10s already being given out, Annabel could find her place in the show in danger.

Speaking on behalf of Betfair Roulette, body language expert Darren Stanton believes the dancing duo could be leaving the show this weekend.

He said: “I do still believe that Annabel and Johannes don’t have huge amounts of chemistry.

“I can’t see a strong connection between them and I have seen them faking smiles a few times when rehearsing together.

“I think we could see them leaving the competition this weekend.

“They could be in trouble when up against other couples who have a really strong chemistry as the public will just favour them.”

Darren highlighted that although Annabel is a good dancer, he believes she isn’t enjoying the Strictly process as much as the other competitors.

He added: “Her smiles come across as laboured, and disingenuous. It could be that she’s still getting to grips with the show.”

Currently, Annabel is seventh on the leaderboard, underneath EastEnders star Bobby Brazier and broadcaster Angela Rippon.

On the other end of the scale, actor Layton Williams is storming ahead after impressing the judges with his Cha Cha Cha.

The 29-year-old was given a total of 37, which is the highest score in the competition so far.

Following close behind are Nigel Harman and Katya Jones with 33 and Adam Thomas and Luba Mushtuk with a total of 32

Will Layton and Nikita Kuzmin manage to keep their position at the top of the leaderboard for another week?

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday on BBC One from 6:30pm.
