This Morning deny sacking Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes from ITV show11/15/2020
This Morning have squashed rumours that the ITV show have "sacked" hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford.
It was reported on Saturday that the popular TV couple, both 60, were axed from their Friday slot on the show and are being replaced by Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary.
Addressing the recent reports, ITV are said to have shut down speculation they're leaving the programme.
A spokesperson for This Morning told Metro.co.uk: "We have a stellar presenting line up on This Morning in Holly and Phillip and Eamonn and Ruth.
"Any additions to this line up will be announced in due course."
Daily Star Online have contacted representatives of ITV for comment.
Eamonn and Ruth haven't addressed the rumours, but their former colleague Fern Britton expressed her shock at the claims on social media.
Fern, who left This Morning in 2009, retweeted a post from The Sun columnist Dan Wootton about the rumours.
He tweeted: "What appalling treatment of Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford by This Morning and ITV.
"They have been absolute loyal rocks to that show through turmoil and are beloved behind the scenes. Sad to see."
Fern quoted Dan's post and exclaimed: "Oh no?"
She also shared another post from Dan, which said: "That doesn't take away from the fact Alison Hammond is a superstar who deserves the world. Overlooked for far too long by ITV, this is her moment."
Eamonn and Ruth have been hosting the how on Friday's and during school half-terms and summer holidays since 2006.
They've reportedly been told they will be replaced by Alison and Dermot after their successful previous appearances.
The Mirror reported that the couple are "furious and upset" over the news but will still host the show during the kids' summer holidays whilst Holly and Phil are off.
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
