Tom Holland’s Spider-Man may be in the MCU, but the rights to the character are still owned by Sony. The studio’s deal with Disney’s Marvel Studios means they produce their own films in the franchise, but Peter Parker is allowed to feature in other MCU movies. While, at the same time, Sony have been building their own Marvel universe on the side – most notably with Tom Hardy’s Venom.

The 2018 Spider-Man villain spin-off was a box office smash and is getting a sequel this September called Venom: Let There Be Carnage.

While Jared Leto is set to star in Morbius next year, a film that features Michael Keaton’s Vulture from the MCU’s Spider-Man Homecoming.

Since then, fans have wondered if Hardy’s Venom might go the other way and end up appearing in a Tom Holland movie.

Well interestingly, a new report claims that MCU boss Kevin Feige is a huge fan of the actor.

According to We Got This Covered, whose sources correctly predicted Anthony Mackie’s Captain America 4, Feige would like to use Hardy’s Venom in the MCU.

Sony certainly looks to be getting closer to Marvel with a recent streaming deal that sees their movies, including Spider-Man outings, heading to Disney+ in the future.

And let’s not forget that this Christmas is the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home, which is heavily rumoured to feature previous Peter Parkers Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.

But also a whole host of villains from their Sony movies, including Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock, which the actor himself has confirmed.

Considering all this, perhaps Hardy’s Venom will make his MCU debut in Spider-Man No Way Home?

Interestingly, reliable scooper Daniel Richtman tweeted last year that he could show up alongside the other MCU Spider-Man villains like Mysterio, Scorpion, Kraven and Keaton’s Vulture.

What with Sony awkwardly having another universe on the side of the MCU, it would make a lot of sense to say that it’s another reality entirely.

After all, the first Morbius trailer featured a poster of Maguire’s Spider-Man, so maybe the Living Vampire is from that world?

Interestingly, Maguire Spider-Man trilogy director Sam Raimi is helming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

And that blockbuster will arrive just three months after Spider-Man: No Way Home, which stars Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sorcerer Supreme opposite Holland’s Peter Parker.

With all these connections we wouldn’t be surprised if more Sony characters end up appearing in Doctor Strange 2.

While on top of all this, Disney now own the rights to Fox, meaning they can use past X-Men and Fantastic Four characters.

Evan Peters’ Quicksilver from the Fox X-Men movies has already shown up in WandaVision.

Although, some fans were disappointed he only turned out to be a meta-reference.

Nevertheless, we wouldn’t be surprised if he turns out to be the real deal in Doctor Strange 2, which WandaVision is a prelude to.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage hits cinemas on September 24, 2021, followed by Spider-Man: No Way Home on December 17, 2021, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness on March 25, 2022.
