Who are Bob Saget's siblings?01/10/2022
BELOVED actor and comedian Bob Saget passed away at the age of 65 on Sunday, January 9, 2022.
Here's everything we know about his family.
Who are Bob Saget's siblings?
Bob Saget personally grew up with two siblings, both of who died at a young age.
His sister Andrea died of an aneurysm at the age of 34. He had another sister, Gay, who passed away at the age of 47, just a few years after she was diagnosed with scleroderma.
Following Gay's death, Saget wrote and directed the 1996 film, For Hope.
The movie starred Dana Delany, and aired on ABC.
Aside from filmmaking in honor of his late sister, Saget also served on the Scleroderma Research Foundation Board.
According to the now-deceased comedian, his parents lost multiple children in their lifetime.
"There’s been a lot of death in my family," Saget told News.com.au in 2013.
"My parents have lost four kids, and we dealt with death and difficulty through odd, sick humour. My dad just ended up with a strange sense of humour and I inherited it and took it to a professional level.
"He was able to use humour to help us survive. I like to joke that he touched a lot of people, and they’re all pressing charges now."
He and his family also suffered the loss of his twin brothers at the time of their birth, according to reports, although few details are known.

What is scleroderma?
Scleroderma is a group of rare diseases that directly affects the skin and connective tissues.
The illness is more common in women than men, and often occurs between the ages of 30 and 50.
Scleroderma currently has no cure, yet various treatments exist to help ease symptoms and improve overall quality of life.
According to Mayo Clinic, there are multiple types of scleroderma. For some, the disease only affects the skin, tightening and hardening the organ. In a majority of people, however, scleroderma can directly harm blood vessels, internal organs, and the digestive tract.
On January 10, 2020, Saget took to his Instagram account to honor his sister, Gay, writing: "My sister Gay would’ve been 73 yesterday.
"She died when she was 47 from scleroderma, a disease that I’m part of finding the cure, as a proud board member of the #SclerodermaResearchFoundation @srfcure – My heart goes out to everyone who’s lost someone dear to them."
What happened to Bob Saget?
Saget was in Florida for a series of stand-up comedy shows, wrapping up his latest gig in the early morning hours of Sunday, January 9, 2022.
Later on Sunday, the Sheriff's Department and the fire department responded to the Ritz-Carlton Orlando around 4pm ET, after learning hotel security had found Saget unresponsive in his room.
The Orange County Sheriff's Office took to Twitter to announce his death, writing: "Earlier today, deputies were called to the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes for a call about an unresponsive man in a hotel room.
"The man was identified as Robert Saget & pronounced deceased on scene. Detectives found no signs of foul play or drug use in this case," the tweet concluded.
