Horror crash between a cement lorry and ambulance in Kent leaves two seriously injured and another two hurt

  • Emergency services were scrambled to the A21 in Sevenoaks just after 8pm

  • Police are appealing for witnesses with dashcam footage of it to come forward 

A horror crash between a cement lorry and an ambulance in Kent has left two hurt and two more seriously injured.

Police, firefighters and paramedics were all called to the coastbound carriageway of the A21 in Sevenoaks just after 8pm last night.

Crash scene investigation teams spent hours in freezing conditions collecting evidence and using specialist laser scanners to try and recreate what happened.

Dashcam footage is said to have been recovered from the two vehicles, but police are keen to see more from others in the area who witnessed the smash.

The road is expected to be closed for some time as the investigation and clean-up operation continues to take place.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit have commenced an investigation and are asking anyone with dashcam footage prior to the incident to come forward

Anyone who witnessed the collision is also being asked to contact officers

Road closures are in place and motorists are being asked to check their route before travelling

A Kent Police spokesman said: ‘Dashcam footage and witnesses are being sought following a collision on the coastbound carriageway of the A21 near Sevenoaks.

‘Kent Police was called to the scene at 8.16pm on Wednesday 5 January 2022, following a report of a collision involving an ambulance and a cement lorry.

‘Four people were injured in the incident, two of them were seriously hurt and the air ambulance was in attendance.

‘Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit have commenced an investigation and are asking anyone with dashcam footage prior to the incident to come forward. 

‘Anyone who witnessed the collision is also being asked to contact officers.

‘Road closures are in place and motorists are being asked to check their route before travelling.’
